Im new to the DVD and surround sound market and I am looking for a good 5/6 disc DVD player for around $250-300, any recommendations? I will eventually be looking into getting a surround sound setup. Please let me know any DVD players that are good for this price range. I dont fully trust the guys at Circuit City or Best Buy.

Panasonic DVD-F85S is $149. It's a 5 disc DVD changer with progressive scan, DTS/Dolby Digital/DVD-Audio 5.1 channel decoders, and MP3/WMA playback. No need to pay anymore than that, especially if your main concern is surround sound. Should be available in several weeks.

Yamaha C6480. It has DCDi, DVDa, its built like a tank and can be had for ~$300ish.
