I have the CNN one (not the "America Remembers" commemorative one, but the first one) and the HBO one (In Memoriam - New York City, 9/11/01 (2002)). Both will cause you to relive the horror of that day as if it was happening while you are watching it.

9/11 - The Filmmakers' Commemorative Edition (2002) is a must-have. It's by the two French filmmakers/brothers who were doing a documentary on the training and daily life of a rookie fireman, and had been filming him for months until one day they went out to check out something on the street and a noise overhead caused one of them to look upwards - with his camera - and see/capture the first plane to strike the Twin Towers. They were right there on the scene and went into the Towers with the fire crew, filming all the while. It's an amazing film and story that I won't spoil by revealing any more.

Let me just say that a couple "miracles" happened with respect to the firefighters at this station and the 2 filmmakers, but you won't become aware of it until the end.

I agree with all the above but would add: World Trade Center- In Memoriam (2001). Hosted by Harry Smith, it was filmed before 9/11 and shows the history of the building of The World Trade Center.

Amazon has it. Search DVD on 9/11. Also look for Why the Towers Fell, the riveting NOVA documentary on the structural blow-by-blow account of what went on after the planes hit. This one will have you glued to your seat.

The CNN America Remembers is really good. But I did see the one with the two french filmmakers on TV and that one was incredible. It actually puts you into the day even more than watching CNN all day ever could. Both are very touching yet very disturbing but I make myself watch every once in a while to remind myself how barbaric humans can be. And to show myself no matter how bad of a day I might have had, nothing could ever compare to that day and how it ripped apart the heart of the nation.

"Seven Days in September" is a realy good one. It's comprised of home and professional video. There is video of the WTC attack but the bulk of the video focuses on the grieving and recovery during the days after the attack. Inspiring stuff.
