I have a Runco RS-900 and i am trying to find a good screen for it. I have the opportunity to get extremely good deals on Da-Lite screens and I am wondering what suggestions people have from their product line. I am looking for 110" - 120" screen. The light in the room can be controlled but i would like to be able to play games and watch tv without having to completely block out light all the time.

We need more info to provide a good answer. Do you want to mount your PJ on the ceiling, or can you mount it lower near seated eye level? What color are the walls and ceiling of your room? Will your seating area be wide or narrow? How many seats/rows? What are the dimensions of the room? Answer these questions, and you may get some responses.

Thanks FLBoy. The projector will be ceiling mounted. The room is L shaped but the effective are that will be used for the theater (i.e. seating, screen, speakers, etc.) is 24' x 14' with 9' high ceilings. The room is far from finished so room color is still undecided. However, it will be a darker color...probably dark brown. There will be two rows of seating with 3 Berkline Theater Recliners per row. I have decided on 110" to 120" for the screen size. Really what i am trying to decide is what screen from Da-Lite is a good match with the RS-900. Thanks!!

I believe the calibrated light output of the RS-900 is about 500 Lumens. That would call for a screen gain of about 1.3/1.5 for a 110/120 inch 16x9 screen. In the Da-Lite line, that would suggest Cinema Vision (1.3) or Pearlescent (1.5).

I use a High Power, but if you're going to mount the PJ up high, you will lose much of the HP's gain potential. I also would not recommend a gray or high contrast screen, because your dark walls and ceiling will obviate that.

I have no personal experience with either Cinema Vision or Pearlescent material, so someone else who has experience with these materials hopefully will comment.
