I would like to purchase a good entry level progressive scan dvd player. I would like to know what you all would recommend. I was thinking of picking up a Panasonic, but which model is the best one to get. At this time it doesn't have to have a DVI connection.

A quick glance at this board shows some people having fun with $30 DVD players.


If you plan on spending around $100, I think you might as well just spend a bit more and get a Zenith 318, which will upconvert (and has DVI). You'll still spend much less than $200.


If you're more concerned with audio, the Pioneer 563a does DVD-A and SACD, and won't cost you too much. (you'll need a receiver/amp with 5.1 analog inputs though)


Are "non-progressive" DVD players even available anymore? Honestly, I don't know.
