ouch i was hoping $50 or less

There are some at Adorama, BHPhotovideo and ebay all for less than $50.

Cant vouch for any of them as I'm still doing some research on which one I want, but worth checking out.

I saw some generic LED arrays at the local Ace Hardware. They were very cheap, very bright and used AA batteries. They were about the size of my hand and were intended to be "work lights". They had a magnet on the back. I don't know the color temperature, but I should have bought a couple to see what they would do for video, but I didn't.

Can you please recommend a good led light for a handycam type camcorder. Thanks

I need a light for nightime use outside.

I bought a couple of these

Just one of these mounted to your camcorder outside will light up the night in a big way.

If I had needed what you are looking for these would have been great.

These are seriously bright, but you NEED fresh batteries. They work with alkalines but rechargable is the way to go if you use them a lot.

I did test these outside and they lit up the woods for quite a distance.

Too bad I didn't do a test video of these.
