Your search and reading will give you several options. Probably one of the most talked about players these days is the Panasonic RP-56. About $225+- , progressive scan and the new chipset that everyone is raving about.
Steve, do you know if the Panasonic CV-51 uses the same MPEG decoder (sans chroma bug) as the RP-56? I have searched all over this site and there is very little information about non-progressive players......
You should have GREAT sucess with the Pioneer DV-343, or the Toshiba-SD2170 (which I bought for a friend and liked the video performance of this unit), or the Panasonic RP-56, which was previously mentioned.
