The Denon 5800 is a great receiver but a lot of controversy follows it at this time. People want the DPL-II update with the other updates, and Denon has not been forth coming on if and when it will be released. There is also a big possibility that the 5802 will be out soon to recapture the flagship line, as most now belive is held by the 4802 model.
If the DPL-II is not of great interest to you, you may hold off your purchase a few months to see what happens.
If the upgrade price is high or never comes out the Denon will be dumped by many user's and the prices should only fall.
Grey-market places like crazy eddies are selling it new for ~$2300 - so a used price needs to substantially beat that to be considered "good" at least in my book (check mysimon.com to back up these numbers).
Assuming that you can probably fight out the warranty on a grey-market box but that warranty is not transferable (and also partially expired) on a used one, that is.
