I was totally in shock when I pulled in the driveway. There it was.

So far I have played dvd’s without having to reboot the player. It plays my problem dvd's that the D1 wont. The remote/IR port seem to be more responsive.

One word of warning. The brightness, contrast and saturation is "WAY" OFF. If Jim N. reads this post I would strongly suggest as default to match D1 levels immediately. The initial picture perception is not going to be good. True it is correctable through the above mentioned adjustments.

All other players I have dealt with the “out of the box†picture has been pretty good with a little tweaking needed. But the initial D2 picture is scary. Why submit the end user to such a "HOT" picture.

I have a lot more pics to come. Including the guts!!!!!

Excellent suggestion, Jerry. TomRhyne and I both went through the exact same thing you did. We found the process frustrating, particularly the timing, and the one push at a time aspect, of the buttons when trying to adjust the picture.
Is it just me, or does it look VERY much like the Momitsu V880?

I'm not home right now, so I can't compare first hand. But the front and rear panel layout seems EXACTLY the same as the Momitsu.
Jim N. if you are listening, in ref to the brightness, contrast and saturation controls, may suggest from an end user point of view to provide numerical values instead of the bars. The bars are worthless, they do not provide a point of reference.

If for some reason my setup gets wiped out, I will not be able to dial it in by referring back to the numbers. I would have to go through the whole entire adjustment exercise.
I agree..it does look quite like the momitsu.

Nice job in making it look a lot better. Did you guys see the blue lights? I have friends that are convinced that blue lights make it sound better. ;)
I think wblynch is correct... this thing is a Momitsu clone. Even the "problems" seem the same. Looks like a duck, walks like a duck...

My Momitsu has orange lights if I recall correctly... bummer, 'cause your friend is right, the blue lights do make it sound better!
Silly question here....Does the D2 play DVD+R recorded fron DVD X COPY!

I have never used DVD X Copy. I use DVD Shrink and Nero. In ref to DVD+R, I have both (-R & +R) backup's let me check when I get home tonight.
something of interest, there is no stop button on the face plate. Not a problem but interesting to me.
Thanks Jerry!

Like the way the faceplate looks reflecting your granite.

I'll see if we can address the DVI level defaults and how fast the settings display times out with firmware. A change to numeric instead of bars could take longer.

Could you check it with DVD-RW and +RW if you have any. The spec sheet doesn't claim to support them, but I remember a few who could with the Bravo D1.
Oh Jim, you mean you don't have the D2 yourself? Get one. :D
I don't have any +-RW DVDs recorded.
