I've had it for a while. I had to get it from NCIX store in Toronto, because it was my understanding that Schythe pulled out of US, and there is no official distributor any more. They used to sell on newegg.

You will not be disappointed.
Didn't know that Scythe wasn't selling in the US any longer. No wonder I was having difficulties finding some recently. At least I've got a few fans already, and am extremely pleased with them.
I luckily found some on amazon
Nice! I had to get them from Superbiiz when I built my HTPC because they were going for $50+ on Amazon and Rakuten. It's a really nice heatsink and fan, but you have to be careful with your RAM slots. It definitely over hangs one, possibly two on my micro ATX motherboard, but I got low profile GSKILL ARES RAM so that wasn't an issue. I run the fan at about 600rpm idle, and it's dead silent. At load, I still can't hear it until it hits about 1500rpm, and even at max speed, it's not terrible. If anything, it's a nice whooshing sound rather than a mechanical motor turning sound.
Good choice. I swear by Scythe, have Shurikens, Big Shurikens, Samurais and Kozutis in all my systems. My server has a lowly Shuriken rev. 1 cooling a 145W Phenom 965BE without breaking a sweat!

I use a nexxus 850 quiet power supply and a Zalman 10x quiet CPU cooler. The PC is in with all my other AV gear in the living room and I can't hear it at all from the listening position. Great stuff.
So I tried to install the cooler yesterday and it won't fit. My gskill ripjaw ram is too tall. The cooler hovers over the 2 slots closest to the cpu.

Here are some pics of my motherboard with the stock cooler and to show the layout. It's a biostar ta75m mobo.

The slots are labeled a1, a2, b1, b2.....a1 is closest to the cpu. The ram I have will only fit in b1 and b2.

Below is what the manual states for what slots to use.

What happens if I used slots b1 and b2 for the RAM? Will the mobo only read 1 stick?

Does anyone sell a bracket for this cooler to allow it to turn it 90 degrees to mount? I'm just trying to avoid having to return the cooler or buy new ram if I can.

Thanks

I believe if you use b1 and b2, they will both be on the same channel, so you don't get the benefits of dual-channel. However, I think it should still work. Why not give it a try?

So I tried it and ran some tests using passmark. The only thing that's lower is the 3d graphics mark. All the other marks are the same.

Would my htpc with media browser server be affected if the 3d graphics mark is lower?

I don't use Media Browser so that I don't know. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I'm assuming you're using an APU? The GPU performance is extremely dependent on the RAM, so it's not a surprise to see that it is the most affected by your single-channel RAM configuration.
So I decided to just buy a matching set of standard height ram that will fit in slots a1 and b1.

Can I throw one of my old ram sticks in a slot b2 to get 6gb? Would the other 2 still run in dual channel and the 3rd stick in single? Or would adding a 3rd make it all single channel?

That I'm not sure of, but I hear compatibility between different RAM types is an issue running in a configuration like you're suggesting. You can try it, but you might run into problems, or the system may not even boot. I think you may be better off just using your 2x2 GB and leaving out the Ripjaws.
I find that small fans make the most noise, i.e. 60-80mm. I use a funnel with a 120mm CPU fan that is very effective for quiet cooling. Fan speed is always at a low RPM and is virtually silent outside the case; if ever needed there is plenty of reserve RPM should things start getting hot. I was between a rock and a hard place with finding a cooler that would clear the memory and graphics card heat sink (fan-less graphic card).
