First off,

Hi. I'm new to the board but had been lurking for like a week. Anyway, I called Cox and requested a box with the updated 1.56.4.1 firmware so I could have active firewire ports as per the FCC. They said no problem and delivered it right away.

And yes, it works (connected to my Apple Powerbook G4 1.5 ghz). BUT......i need to know how I can send the standard channels to my Macintosh as well. I want to record some of those channels too.

Also, I don't know if the DVI port is active since I don't have a DVI cable to test it. BUT, both Firewires definitely do.

I'd also like to know why when I record a HD channel that is not 1080i, why does the top of the recorded picture have like a blurry/scrambled edge at the very top of the recorded picture ?

And lastly, I wish I could play this content directly from my Powerbook to the tv. My tv does not have a Firewire input.

Anyway, the SA3250HD is awesome so far.

Feedback please.

Use the DVI port if you can as the pic is usually very much better through DVI versus the other connections.
