Tell your friend he watches too many infomercials. Those are some fine Australian speakers you have there.

What does he think of your Klipsch Cornwalls ?

EDIT: I see you had included the new dream acoustics sub in the list. Still, I smell a troll.
your friend watches way too much television, and actually believes Bo$e commercials. Sad, but he is no audiophile, not even a good listener. Keep what you have !

The one upgrade you might consider is the lowly Polk PSW110 - it was never much more than a sub made to a price point....actually an embarrassment to the line of Polk speakers. In the Polk lineup, don't consider anything less than the PSW505.
But guys, what about:

1. Proprietary TrueSpace® digital processing circuitry

2. Gemstone speaker array design

3. Proprietary waveguide speaker technology

4. Stereo Everywhere® speaker performance

5. Direct/Reflecting® speaker technology

6. Syncom® computer tested

7. Twiddler Technology

8. Virtually Invisble® single cube speakers

9. Unify™ intelligent integration system

10. ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system

Someone at Bose spends a ton of time thinking up catchy phrases....

Elihawk, While it might be true that all that tech is wonderful. it sounds so complex I would be scared to bring it home, and have it sit in the box. I am serious, I bet there are even stupid stuff like wires in the box. Are they monster wires? Do they use Monster cables?

How would I hook it up to that box, with the picture inside it? At least the picture in the box changes, but would the sound from the picture, still come from the box? Also what's up with this truespace stuff? Don't they know NASA stopped putting a man in space with that complex shuttle-thingy stopped going up in the air, to all that black stuff. Also if it's invisible, why would I need monster wires, for it to work?

What's with the Gemstone? I have been to Arizona and the Gemstone there is not white. The Bose speakers are white. The Gemstones I saw were more a blue kinda thing. Oh and some green in there too.

8. Virtually Invisble® single cube speakers

And from what I have heard, they sound invisible too (especially certain frequencies!)

True space is as opposed to the falsespace technology!
Your friend isn't high but I would check to see if he's a Bose salesman or has stock in the company.

I predict audiophile15's next thread will be trolling about Monster wire.

Since you said that, it brings up some memories of someone I thought wasn't a Bose salesman, but a guy who would sell anything to anyone

I live in Michigan and recently had a business trip to Virginia. There were other people there from other states at this meeting.

While at lunch

Someone had started a conversation about home audio, and one of them thought bose was the best you can do. I laughed and stated, that they do indeed have the best people in the advertisement business.

I gave plenty of reason and explained a few of their tricks. It wasn't doing any good.

I ended up finding a local Home Theater shop and we gave it a visit, but not before stopping by the Bose store first. They had some 901's in, and I do like them.

Well we get to the Home Theater store and I am expecting the sales guy to rip them a good one, but instead he gave a speech about comparing Hammers' and Screw drivers'.

I was so frackin confused, until he said I sell both, bose and any other speakers you want

I meant that you appeared to have simply wanted to start a flame war about Bose and then leave, so next you'd do the same with a thread about Monster.

Let's just say you were off to a weird start on this forum... Nothing that can't be fixed I suppose.
Does he want you to sell them cheap so he can buy them for himself? I would question his loyalty. . 'friends don't let friends Bose'.

He was high on something. I'd like to try it.

You'll love my new invention. I'm calling it Godzilla cable. The copper comes from the Kennecott mine in Utah where it's mined by virgin Mormon women under 25. From there, it's shipped to the Keebler elf tree where they smelt it and mix in some of their elven magic to make it 100% oxygen-free. The sheathing is done at Area 51 where scientists use technology gleaned from the alien space crash so there's zero hum over your speakers. It'll be packaged in a material that can be shredded and used for garden mulch. The best part? It's only seven times more expensive than Monster cable. Everyone send a check now and I'll put you on the pre-order list.

And wait till you hear about my new speakers. Watch out Bose!

Mithril (Elven metal) makes the best wire.
My new speaker wire gets wisdom from the Dalai Lama....

I don't think people are trolling just to bash Bose! However, with some of the claims that Bose makes and some of the technology they "invent"...it is just so easy to give them a rib'ing! Bose sounds better than most Panasonic speakers I have heard, but Panasonic doesn't boast of "Truespace Wave Sound dispersion stereo everywhere" priopriatory technology. Some of the technology defys the laws of physics, so you have to hand it to Bose....
