I've read all the post regarding this. Is it really, really, really necessary to run a two box system for a grafik eye 3104? I'm thinking the extra gang box with a blank cover plate won't look very attractive in a home theater?

I was able to mount a 3106 in a single 4 gang box (the metal gangable type that is a little deeper than the plastic kind). It was tight and you have to wire cleanly, but it was not so bad.


The 3104 should be a bit easier since you don't have to have as many neutral pigtails.

I put the extra box above the GE box, only it is facing into the closet instead of into the room.

My GE and 2nd box are in the lobby next to the HT entrance. I plan on covering the extra box with my Dolby or DTS sign.

Trying to mount my GE behind an MDF panel, and need to find an extender for a 4 gang box.


Can anyone suggest where to find this? None of the local hardware stores carry this and the usual online places (smarthome, partsexpress) don't either.


Any pointers/links/info are appreciated.
