Any tips or hints to help make GTA: SA (which, IMO is the greatest video game ever made) look better on my 55" widescreen HDTV? I'm using Sony's PS2 component cables, my PS2 is set to 16:9, but it still looks like garbage. It's so crappy, that my PS2 is now hooked up to my 4:3 32" TV. I'm not worried about other PS2 games because mostly everything is also available for Xbox. But GTA: SA is easily my favorite game and it's a shame it looks so horrible!!

Do you have a Rear-projection TV? I played a month of the game on a 60" RPTV and it looked a little shotty until I got a 55" LCD TV and now it looks a little better

Get used to it, I moved my PS2 to my 27" analog and it looks wonderful. When I had it on my 46" rear projection I thought I had gone back in time.

LOL, rear projection CRT is superior to LCD in image quality in every way. Nice try on the LCD promotion.

Well, you are seeing the limits of the PS2 hardware on a bigger screen unless you move further away from the TV.

How the hell is a CRT projection superior to an LCD projection???????? The difference was close to night and day when i switched out TV's....So you can just go play with your convergence issues and ill be just fine with my LCD!!!

All console games look a little old on a HDTV in my opinion. After seeing the graphics in games like Farcry and Doom 3 I am quite ready for the next generation of consoles. That is why I like the rumor that Halo 2 will be re-released as an X-box 2 game with better graphics and 720p support. Also I would like to see the ending to Halo 2 :).

I have connected the PS2 to a samsung DLP, Samsung LCD, Mitsubishi RPTV, and an Infocus X1 and NONE of them really look good.

The PS2 is best kept connected to an older non-HD set. Unfortunately it is old technology from the Dreamcast era that was rushed out the door to combat the Dreamcast, which by the way, HAD VGA support! So theoretically the PS2 is still stuck in the stone age.

But thanks Sony for the USB port and the Fire wire port. Thanks anyway.

The Firewire port really serves no purpose, unless you're connecting 2 PS2s together, right? I tried running a Firewire cable from my PS2 to my Sony handycam digital handheld and I got nothing. Stone age is right.

My point exactly blkout, I was just trying to say it looked a little better, but still S**TTY like always if you are running on a PS2. I'm not trying to promote an LCD TV, I go to college and work at a millwork shop, so no promotions!!! I just think my tv looked better than the cheap Philips TV I had before
