Grand Wega V - Turn off bulb?

176 Views 0 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  brownstone
I have a question regarding a Sony Grand Wega V HDTV.

Our setup is very simple. Coax from our cable provider goes into the set, audio out from the set goes into an amplifier, and the amplifier drives our speakers. There is no external cable box whatsoever.

The cable company provides several "audio only" music channels that we would like to listen to. However, it seem wasteful of energy and bulb life to have the display on while we are listening to this music.

Is it possible to tell the TV to power down the bulb so that we can listen to audio without these energy and bulb concerns?

Thanks!
