I'ts a great basic explanation of why we should stick with widescreen. Remember to turn your sound on to hear it as well.

I'd be very surprised if people who have 4:3 projectors don't watch movies in OAR when given the choice...


Anyone here with a 4:3 projector prefer "full screen" dvds?


Personally my choice of a 4:3 projector was driven by other needs than DVD (obviously) such as Standard TV and my PS2.

4:3 projectors are also much easier to handle with an HTPC. I definitely stick with widescreen for movies and masking doesn't even seem to be necessary if your projector's contrast is strong enough. But then I do fill up the entire wall right up to the ceiling when playing video games or surfing the web.
