GREEN GLUE is sticky!

hello forum members

green glue is really sticky, and it stays sticky after 3 days. you get it on your caulk gun and grab the thing the next day and wonder why the gun is stuck to your hands. i have been using disposable gloves. that seems to control some of the mess. get a little on them and go to another pair.

I used this stuff to control sound from the tin for the returns and it made a big difference. Green glue reminds me of the old stretch armstrong toy, but sticky!

actually, it'll still be sticky after 30 years! nature of the beast.

Disposable gloves are 7 bucks/100 at wal-mart, 8 bucks/100 at k-mart, and 4 bucks/100 at sams club here in fargo & i recommend them.

good luck, larryep, with the rest of your project, and it might help to know that a gentleman from this forum (SJ) pointed out that Avon Skin-So-Soft works wonders with cleaning it up.
WOW!

WOW! for 30 years? :D it's just the nature of the polymers involved, we don't talk much about VE material design, so i can't say why.

i think the skin-so-soft pioneer is scottj0007. p'raps we should develop a cleaner of similar safety/effectiveness ands ell it at cost as a service.
The way I see it, a big box of rubber gloves and a big bottle of skin-so-soft bath oil are just as important as the caulking gun when it come to working with GreenGlue. :D
Larry,

How did you use it on the tin on your returns?
Larry,

Quit your sniveling.

I'm from the GG old school, 5 gal buckets & sharp metal trowels.

In my day we didn't have fancy caulk tubes, Avon girly products & tea party gloves.

I feel a bit sorry for guys that never experienced the joy of stepping on a GG bucket lid,

catapulting the contents across the final layer of drywall. It's a magic moment.

I hope you know I'm kidding here.

Stick with it pal, it'll be over soon.

What Brian and Ted don't tell customers is that once GG contacts air, it sprouts wings and tries to migrate home.

I HAD THE METAL on the frame already and I opened a green glue tube and wanted to use it on something before i started dry walling. i NOTICE THE METAL VIBRATES IF YOU BANG ON WALL SO I USED THE GREEN GLUE ALONG EDGES WHERE THE METAL AND WOOD MEET. I t made a noticable difference!

holy cow in a bucket. Man I bet that was a mess. this glue, I feel Grows and migrates.

If this glue was around in the stooges day ,It would of been a prop.

I have some extra GG from a project just completed, anyone interested in buying?
Ditto, I think I've got 2/3rd's of a 5 gal bucket left.

Anyone in the NoVa area interested? Make an offer that I can't refuse and then come and git it!
