I get a 60 Hz hum in my system that gets louder over time. I'm pretty sure it's a ground loop between the projector and the amps, since when I disconnect the video feeds it goes away. I know I could lift the ground on the projector, but not sure that's wise. There is no cable or outside sources. Any thoughts?

So no cable or satellite?

You can get ground loops when there is more than one path to ground, even if everything is properly grounded, but this is not common.

no cable or satellite. And I get no improvement with a ground lifting 3-to-2 adapter on the projector.

You shouldn't defeat the 3rd prong on a 3 pronged plug. Its there for your safety. If you've eliminated all the usual ground loop suspects like cable, satellite and interconnected components plugged into different outlets, then it could be that the return or ground wire on one of your cables has come loose. Try switching the cables in the components where the hum is audible or visible (annoying rolling bars on your tv picture)
