I have a GW II 50" with a HDTV 6000 BellExpressVu receiver(same with dish 6000).

Do I have to connect the 6000 using a s-video connection for SD or using the component will do the job for SD too ?

Thanks

Component all the way. The 6000 model upconverts the 480i signal to either 720p or 1080i.

Now one word of caution. I had my setup on the 6000 set to 1080i and everything was wonderful on the channels that transmit at 1080i (such as CBS, PBS, WB, etc...). When I turned to ABC (720p), the image was not sharped and showed Jaggy Edges on people's clothes (only on ABC). Therefore, I set the 6000 to 720p and it resolved the problem with ABC. I turned to CBS and PBS to see how it was handling it and they looked fine (setup to 720 on the 6000). This might be an isolated problem (my 6000) but I wonder if others experienced the same.

How did you setup 16:9 or 4:3 ?
I left it at 16:9. You will still get the 4:3 materials as 4:3.
