Hello,
To start, I've spent days and days searching and reading the relevant FAQ's, threads and how-To’s here and on htpcnews.com before asking for help. The ultimate goal here is to convert the PC I just built into an HTPC. But first I'm just trying to get the PC connected to the GWIII (KF-60WE610) and try some DVD's (using the new Nvidia codec, Zoom Player and ffdShow), games, etc. to evaluate the PQ. Having carefully followed the recommended processes and settings for connecting the PC to my GWIII via DVI, I get massive over scan on the desktop. Here are the PC specs:
P4 3.4Ghz 800Mhz Hyper threading Northwood
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard (latest BIOS)
480W Entec True Power PSU
2Gb Corsair Twinx 3200XL
BFG Tech 6800GT OC 256Mb AGP video
WD Raptor 75Gb SATA drive
Creative EMU 1212 Audio card
Plextor PX-712A DVD RW
Windows XP SP1 (Ihave SP2 if necessary)
Nvidia 61.7 drivers
Current resolution 1280x1024 @75Hz 32bit
I've attempted to follow several of the custom timings listed here
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?threadid=362324&highlight=GWIII+timings
under both 720P and 1080i by pasting them into Powerstrip’s user defined custom resolutions. Unfortunately, it seems no matter what rez and timings are used the over scan makes the desktop unusable.
Any ideas as to what I'm missing or doing wrong

Sorry if I’ve missed something obvious!
Thank you,
FG
