Hi,

I have a down payment on a gw3 at a local store, but i cant find the build date on the box.


All i have is a s/n of 9115195.


Those of you with a Jan 04 build date, can u post your sn for comparison?

Ive gone thru the buzz thread, and it seems theres a 12 03 date for a 9111157. I feel like im playing the lottery here...


If the build date is visible on the outside of the box, please let this dummie know where it is.

I posted this on another thread. I picked up mine on Tuesday at CC. You can't tell by the outside. I made them open it and I visually checked the tv myself. It was a January 2004 date. You will probably have to do the same.

Whats your serial? at least the first 5 digits anyway.

Im not sure if i can make the guys unpack the tv. If i know the serial is within the range, i'll risk taking it home and do the 7 day return if necesary.

The build date on the TV is “January 2004 LA2†and the serial number is “9116209â€. I have not heard any buzz and haven’t had any issues with startup, three green and power is on. No dead pixels, but I am no expert on dead pixels. All the colors look good, so do the black tones. Does any one have any suggestions on setup cd’s, DVE? "

How is it that all the models could have the same numbers? It doesn't seem right that a SN 9000001 could be 5 different sets. I will assume that this is a partial SN#?

Good Question! I am not sure but my 50" TVs serial number falls in this range and it had the problem. Plus there are no extra numbers on the TV. Maybe they just mix in the serial numbers with the different sizes? They might make a 50" with the serial number 9000001 and a 60" with the serial number 9000002. Does anyone know if this is true? I just copied this from another post in the GWIII thread. I can't find it again but you can search on it.
