My Office Depot has about 5 of the Gyration 25ft Mice on clearance for $40.

There's a $20 off $75 coupon floating around the ************** forums too.

Gyration Suite for $89-20 coupon isn't a bad deal either. Order online for local pickup to use the coupon code.

Probably for the same reason that I returned 3 of them.

They don't work over 6 feet away.

Mine works well and way beyond 6ft. Looks like another case of YMMV....:)

Mine works perfectly from over 30 feet away. Very pleased with it.

No problem what so ever at 20' away for me...first time I even heard someone complain about it.
Mine works fine, too. Most people that have trouble have a 900MHz telephone around which interferes with it.
I'm returning a Gyration Ultra keyboard/mouse combo because they don't work very well for me more than about 6 feet away (I need closer to 14 feet).

May try the Microsoft optical desktop for Bluetooth to see if I get better results.
Hey, Doubly,

I also tried the Gyration set and had to return them. Not just lack of range for me (lost all signal at about 4 feet), but also terrible lag when they did work. I figure it had to be some kind of interference, but I live in a high-rise and I get that kind of thing a lot. Anyway, I was also going to check out the Microsoft BlueTooth to see how it worked, but after reading up on it, I came across several forums saying that there were major problems with the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, such that it would simply die after a few days of use and require a re-install, which meant keeping a wired keyboard & mouse handy. You might want to check into that to see if Microsoft has fixed this problem before you spend $150 on a set.

Good luck!

If it doesn't work you'll need to change the channels. Probably another 900mhz device interfering.

Hmph. You don't want to do that. They really suck. If you read the instructions and follow them exactly and also move codless phones into the other room, it ought to work.
The Gyration is also sensitive if the receiver is too close to the PC or other electronics. I had to put it on a USB extension cord. Better now, but still not perfect. Keyboard seems pretty good, mouse is intermittant.
I was in my local O-Depot and they didn't have it even on sale, much less close-out. $109 for the pair, which is a lot more than I paid when they first came out.

BTW. pressing RF Teach fixes the problems I have with communication problems caused by the telephone.

LOL!

I just went to office depot's website and they have the Ultra Mouse listed :

List Price: $79.95 Our Price: $85.28 and the pair:

List Price $99.95 Our price: $106.62

No closeout prices there!

In fact, as of right now, the OD website says:

List Price: USD 79.95

Our Price: USD 85.28

Curious.
I'm sure most know but there are two different Gyration mouse/keyboard combo: there is the 25ft version and the 100ft version. I have the 25ft version and it work just fine (about 8ft away from receiver). I dont have any other 900 mhz device but I live in an apt as well. For those complaining you may wanna try the 100ft version. Combo I find about $150 or less.

*Dont get the IBM Navigator RF as it is a POS.
Are you sure these are 900Mhz devices? If I'm doing a lot of 802.11 traffic (downloading files or whatnot), it totally kills the mouse, so I assumed it was 2.4Ghz...

I am not absolutely, postively sure, but when my wife lays the mouse down in a funny way, it can be heard on the 900 MHz telephone. Static and squeeling.
From the specs on the website, it appears the mouse operates at 49MHz.

Kind of an odd number, but there you have it.
