H/K AVR-635 vs. Marantz SR-7500

They are both excellent with similar sound.


I prefer HK and the full process Logic 7 over the Marantz's Circle Surround II. I also think the Texas Instruments DSP in the HK is superior and yields better results with EQ. The downside is even buying new you may have to upgrade the 635 if the build date is older than Dec. '05. The upgrade is especially necessary for 7.1 systems.

I don't know of any other than perhaps by serial number prefix. If you see TF0011 I think you can pretty much expect it to be old software. I forget the other prefixs but they are in series so it should be something like TF0012 and TF0013.
