It might be better than that (or worse). The design is solid, the amp was sold as both a turn-key amp and as a kit. If its the later, your mileage may vary. I'd at least pull off the covers and inspect the solder joints to see if they look like they were professionally done.

The Hafler design used in the 220 was one of the best sounding amps around. Even today it will knock the socks off most other amps. My company, SMART Devices, had licensed the design and manufactured an amp for many years based on this design. We sold thousands, and most are still in use today. It was an extremely reliable design in addition to sounding great. This (the SMART TA242 Dual Channel Amplifier) is what I will most likely be using in my home theatre system eventually. It is one of the smoothest sounding amps I have ever heard at any price.

cool.

so what is this, 110w x 2? stereo or dual mono?

how well do they handle a load? would it drive a pair of maggies nicely?

and the BIG question, is it worth $125?

the only thing i could see wrong was the fuse holder cap was missing and a couple scratches here and there...

I'd say its worth $125 if its a facory built unit. As I recall the Dh200 originally sold for something like $175-195 in kit form and $275 factory assembled. The Dh220 was either $350 or $450 ( 350 I think) and was only available factory built (again, if I am remembering correctly).

The model number does indicate the rated power output (200 or 220), stereo w/both channels driven.

The amp can be bridged for 2xMono operation.

Maybe Oscar can provide additional information & confirmation.
