Hi all, I am new to this fourm but have found it highly usefull. I am getting my home wired for low voltage and just want to confirm all this.

We are using the HAI Omni system and I am concerned about controling the music by the 5.7e touch screen. I want to see if anyone has done this...we are using the Russound MCA-C5 distribution amp to distribute the music to our 8 zones. I read this article a while back that confirmed Russound is highly integratable with my HAI Omni system:

One thing is that I wanted to be able to control the music by selecting the source and the song from my 5.7e. I do not want to have the Russound MDK-C5 keypads (too many keypads around the house!...we already have 8 5.7e's, intercoms, thermostats...). Does anyone control their music sources exclusivly with wth 5.7e? I have heard the 5.7e will not allow me to have full control of an iPod even if I have the Russound iPod doc...I will need the MDK-C5 to do that (but as mentioned I dont want more keypads). I was just thinking to use the Russound iPhone app to control the MCA-C5 if I desperatly want to play music from an iPod. My main music sources will be a CD/DVD player and the "HAI music Gateway" which the 5.7e should be able to control nicely.

I am also using the Russound ComPoint intercom that will "lower" the music when one speaks:

If I am assuming anything wrong or if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
