Evening, I have a TCL 55US57-W where half the screen has a black gradiant that flashes on and off. It doesn't do it in the main Roku screen, but does it everywhere else. For the last few months the colors have also been slightly different from one half of the screen to another, and darks have also not blended very well and ended up looking boxy.

I've ordered a while rebuild kit with PSU,Tcon, Mobo, and wifi card hoping that it will fix the issue. I'm also doing a factory reset right now, but it doesn't seem to help.

I've been doing some more reading and seen some think it's a panel issue and the rebuild won't help. I figured that if it's not constant then it's probably a controller issue, correct? Anyone have any ideas if the rebuild would help?

Here's the video: https://youtu.be/qNdzsaSZ58o

Okay a small update. The backlight bright was set to brighter. I switched it to dark and it seems to not do it as much. It also seems to have resolved the blocky darks quite a bit too.

So now I'm thinking: Mobo (backlight controller), PSU, or LED strips?

Replaced all the boards except the wifi module and I still have the problem, except now there's artifact on the other side of the screen probably from moving it around, so it's the panel I guess. Time to go grab another cheap TV for now.

FYI, boards from the Jimmy website are all used and not even reset to factory. The mobo I got in the kit was still logged into the prior owners roko account. I need to email the old owner to make sure their password has been changed.
