I have been happily running my win7 HTPC Since the beginning and a Vista system Before that. My main concern is the hard drive seek or activity noise that I get from various Seagate Drives 1-1.5 TB. What would you guys suggest to keep that noise down.

I currently use the smaller as my recording and OS drive and I night move recording to 2nd drive and then the commercials etc are removed as I sleep.

I know years ago i could set noise levels on maxtor and seagate but hat disappeared as the the drives got larger.

So I'm looking for suggestion on ways to reduce noise. I may record 4 programs at once so the drive cannot be too slow.

Thanks

If you can afford a decent SSD that would be the way to go, especially since you are moving the videos off the main drive at night.

Did you use rubber grommets to install your drive?
