Question, my current setup only allows for HHD rates of 1.5GB/s. I know I can buy a 3.0Gb/s and it will downgrade it, but my question... If I want to use this setup for recording up to 4 shows at once can the 1.5GB/s restriction still allow me to successfully record 4HD shows at once? 3? 2? Thanks

The bus speed will not make a difference it will be limited by the hard disk speed, not the bus speed.

recording 1080i mpeg is about 20mbs/2MBs, so you should be good.


I have 3 tuners recording to a 5400rpm laptop drive, and watch another recorded show at the same time, no problems.


EDIT: using the bios setting AHCI for your drive helps as well, but you need to enable it before installing Windows, or find a hack that works afterwards.
