I recently came across info about two new'ish harman kardon receivers that seem to be quite different than most AVRs. The BDS2 is a 2.1 receiver while the BDS5 is a 5.1 receiver. The amps are digital with apparently 65 real watts ("FTC") per channel. They have built-in blue-ray players, FM tuners, dolby and DTS decoding and lots more. Also, uniquely, AC power can be 110-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz....and they seem to be compatible with NTSC and PAL.

Here's a link to the product features for the BDS5: http://www.harmankardon.com/resource...n/BDS_5_PI.pdf

There's a slight chance I may move to the UK so the european compatibility is appealing. Even if I don't move, I kinda like these especially the BDS2 with its dolby virtual speaker circuit.

Anyone tried either of these yet....or know much more about them than what's on the data sheets?

Cheers,

Tadcu
