All,

Was wondering if anyone here knows how is the HK3385 different from the HK3390? I know that they look different (one is the old HK look while the other one is the newer, more modern graphite colour HK look).

However, what else? Sonically?

Wattage-wise, they are the same.

Help anyone? I am considering purchasing the HK3385 as they are going for a very good deal and so far but I don't know if I will be making a wrong and should pay $50 more for the HK3390.

Thanks,

SH

Electrical changes are minor..

Subwoofer link switch and control jack added, S/W upgrade rear panel connector.

Biggest change is the rounded corner appearance.

If you can find the 3385 it will be cheaper since it is last year's model.

Just my $0.02..

Sorry, a real newbie question..

What is the function of the Subwoofer Link Switch and Control Jack?

S/W upgrade is to be expected. Rear panel connector differences are okay as I really will be using it for 2 channel play (I don't even want to connect the subwoofer to this).

Help?

Many thanks,

SH

Uh, wait. Doesn't the 3390 have digital inputs and an on-board DAC, like the 3490? The 3385 doesn't.

The 3390 does not have any digital inputs or the Dolby Virtual Speaker processing. The only changes are the few tweaks mentioned above. It is the exact same amp section.

Thanks.

Off topic, but does anyone know which DAC is utilized in the 3490?
