Hello all,

just recetly acquired a new HK AVR 7300 but am having some problems with setup. For some reason, I am unnable to select a proper surround mode. What I mean is, the receiver only detects a PCM signal. When I try and switch through the various Dolby Digital or DTS modes, the best I can do is come up with the front channel equivalents (for example Dolby PL IIx).

I believe I have it all configured properly, both physically and internally. I have a 7.1 channel setup and set up the speaker info in the audio menu of the receiver. When I play the DVD, I'm certain that I have a DD 5.1 or 6.1 track selected.

I'm using the Logic 7.1 Cinema mode for now as a temporary fix but hoping somebody has some input on why I'm not getting a surround signal. Thanks for any input!

Youll need to go into the dvd players setup and configure it to output "bitstream" instead of pcm.

good luck
