Harmony 900 with 2015 ShieldTV Kodi Keymapping w/o FLIRC ?

Can I get the Kodi Key mapping to work with a 2015 ShieldTV without a FLIRC device?

Specifically, I'd like to have the numeric keypad functional at a minimum in addition to the directional buttons, Select/OK, return/back, Play/Pause/Stop. Other key codes such as big skips or chapter skips would be nice too.

Anyone have this set up? I searched and nothing came up in this sub forum.

That's kind of a weird situation. The 2015 Shield codes floating around actually came from a Harmony originally which, in turn, were learned from an Nvidia IR remote. So you should be able to find Nvidia Shield in the database. However, if you check the compatibility page, it appears that they've replaced the Shield IR codes with the Bluetooth version of the device which of course won't work on IR remotes like the 900. So I can't really confirm whether they're still there or not. I can tell you that the native Shield IR codes are not the same as MCE or Xbox or anything else like that. They are entirely unique (NEC1 129.126, OBC 2-69).

Regardless, if you strike out, I can send you the pronto hex for the 2015 Shield native IR, and you can email to Logitech to add to your account.

Can you forward this to me please?

I do have one of my 900's talking to my 2015 ShieldTV but I'm hoping to get the number keys and a few more. Right now I just have directional arrows, select/OK, pause, play, home and return/back.

If these aren't available I suppose I will need another FLIRC even though this ShieldTV supports IR out of the box. Maybe this is because these extended codes are considered keyboard shortcuts?

I'm wondering where you got this information and how do I go about getting Harmony to put it into my remote? I suppose I first need to find out which remote it is so they put it in the correct one. I have five Harmony 900's, all bought used and all for well under $100, some under $50. Only one is used with a 2015 ShieldTV, the others with FLIRC and 2017 ShieldTV's. I probably only need these codes on the one with the 2015 ShieldTV.

Where did I get the information? I generated the codes from Harmony data we got back in 2015 using a program called IrScrutinizer. The guy in the other thread did the same thing I did based on the OBC and protocol info I posted there. I had forgotten he posted his version since it's been a while. Both mine and his are functionally identical. I just didn't feel like posting the pronto hex back then.

Are these working now? The bumper/trigger codes come from the handheld controller you could buy for the Shield back then for playing games on the platform. I assume they still function fine in that context. I can't imagine Nvidia putting non-functioning buttons on their remote.

I assumed you already knew how to add codes since you asked for them. In any case, email whichever version of the codes you like to [email protected] and ask them to add to your account (provide the login and remote(s) you want them added to). For completeness, I like to see every possible code submitted to logitech. Even if you don' have a use for them or know what they do, the next guy that comes along may have a need for them. So please don't remove any from the list I gave you.

Keep in mind I don't have a Shield and don't use Harmony remotes. So I can't really address anything besides the codes themselves. I don't know what they do or even how a Shield or the controller these codes came from works. Those sorts of questions should be directed to actual Shield owners.

Thanks. I already opened a ticket on their website and am awaiting a response from them. I copy pasted the entire code list. I do know that the number inputs are not functional for me using Media Center PC > nVidia > ShieldTV.

I'm hoping to work with logitech to add in keyboard shortcuts that are available with the Hub and Elite remote too. Not sure if it'll be possible as that setup is seen as a Bluetooth keyboard by the ShieldTV.

I sent these codes to Harmony they told me they put them in but I'm still not getting the number keys. There are some specific IR codes that Shield TV understands for things like previous channel in live TV. They aren't Pronto hex though they are some other sort of code typically a 3 or 4 digit number. I'm not sure if you're aware of these or if they can be put into harmony database somehow

My "Last" code is previous channel. Just assign that to a button on your Harmony.

The number codes are correct. I'd confirm that those functions are actually assigned to the number buttons in your device and activity (they are independent of each other). They probably simply added the functions and didn't mess with your current button assignments.

If you post the entire source document with those other codes, I can take a look a couple of weeks from now.

The number buttons show in both the device and the activity but don't do anything and the last button doesn't exist. I've reported this back to support.

I think they didn't do anything at all because the SHIELD TEST device they put on my account is no different than the ShieldTV I already have from what I can tell.

I'm not sure where to get the source document to which you refer.
