How can a nearly 40 year old movie look like it was made yesterday? HDNet's presentation of 'Harper' tonite was nearly flawless: clean, clear, sharp, detailed, vibrant colors, and OAR. It shows off the movie's sixties decor and women beautifully. And Paul Newman's young face and blue eyes are luminous.

Yes, it's a great transfer of a great movie, and OAR to boot.

I'll have to check it out. I really liked the flick and wouldn't mind watching it again.

I think the reason these older movies can look so good is b/c they were brightly lit. So many contemporary movies are really darkly lit -- even comedies -- it feels like permanent midnight at the movies.
