I know people get bluray/hddvd in advance sometimes, many people are already commenting on Matrix. Anybody with thoughts/info/audio/, on Apocalypto

No. Never received anything early from Amazon, my only resource for disc now. Boo. Did not see Apocalypto in the theater, but I'm eager to get my hands on it.
It has a May 22nd release date. Wish I could movies 2 weeks before they're out like some people that post on here. Have to get a hook-up.
Saw this in theater's Very Brutal stuff.

but most of it looked like it was shot with a hand held HD cam(little blurry sometimes)

But an uncompressed audio track should do this movie well. Between the drums, and crunching bones, blood pouring, oh and not to spoil anything but there's a cat that should be pretty sweet.
Oh man i preordered this movie, only 23$ over amazon!!!! i cannot wait for this bluray. one of my favorite movies in the past year

It was shot primarily with the Panavision Genesis HD camera, the same camera that was used to shoot Superman Returns. It should look pretty good on BD as a digital-to-digital transfer, but unlike Superman Returns, Apocalypto is getting the full BD-50 AVC treatment without the bitrate starvation Superman Returns suffered from. Should be pretty darn good.

Yeah but Apocalypto doesn't have all the silly filtering and post processing. So it should be super detailed. HD Jungle.

Nope. I ordered it from DVD Pacific, and it has not shipped yet.
Still not shipped mine.

Anyone get their's shipped from dvdpacific yet?
same here. POTC shipped couple of days ago but Apocalyto is still not shipped.
it shipped from dvdpacific?
Ya dvdpacific it was holding up my matrix hd dvd so I asked them to cancel it, the girl said it should be shipped today and she would keep an eye on it.

Got an email a couple of hours later saying it is in stock and has entered shipping.
When this title does start to arrive in peoples mail boxes can someone please check if the back cover has the region listed as A or ABC?
It's region A there's a pic in the other Apocalypto thread.
anybody received it yet ?

it has sometimes smeary motion because that's how it was shot. Quite obvious on 35mm. And the BR will show it vey clearly too. Prepare for complaints.

My copy just shipped. The place I order from usually ships a few days before the release date, so maybe stores got this one in a little later than usual.

Not to get off topic .... but does anyone know why a company located in Florida is called DVD Pacific? Never been able to figure that one out .....
