Has anyone found a software solution for the XP wizard av/tuner installation issue on DH30000U deck (using dvhstools or capdvhs), if so what or where is it?

Sorry solution to what?, I hooked up a firewire between my PC's port and my 40K, XP saw the new hardware and installed the "drivers" per instructions on the DVHSTool site instructions page. Both XP and MyHD know the 40K is attached, it's on the setup page (under tape, MyHD), but I have not figured out how to pass HD (TS) either way, "my bad", I'll keep reading till I find out how to work it. Seems the DVHSTool page talks about filters / etc, all this is beyond me, right now. I did find solutions to "my" MyHD output to a HDTV card by reading over in the HTPC forum, I'm sure enough research will yield a solution. Take care, and good luck.


BTW; to say it again I got the XP drivers (only) installed (all OK as far as I know), and DVHSTools V2.NN installed (the last one posted, yesterday (6/5/04). I also admit, I am very new to this ;-) part of the hobby.


Should this be the norm for this type of stuff, (READ the new solution NOTED in the recording section here), I feel 169Time solution sounds a whole lot better to me than fighting / learning computer issues, opinions vary, I'm sure others like fighting these issues and solving them.


Actually I like my Sammy 165 - 30K solution, easy and it actually works! (for OTA) Too bad the DSS providers can't / won't produce a receiver that works firewire out!
