I saw the product for sale @ Sears for $600 on Sunday but there wasn't one in stock. Now the price lists for $110 with the ability to order and have it by the 21st.

You might send a PM to Jeff Hipps, an AVS member and USA Sales Manager for Sherwood. I generally like Sherwood stuff, but unless this has full preouts to add a separate power amp I would have to pass. The power is rated at 0.2 THD (higher than typical) at 6 ohms (should be rated at 8 ohms). OTOH, this is one of the first of what is probably going to become a more common component in the future - it's called "convergenc."

This Sherwood reciever could be a remarkable product. The amplification is based on TI chips, similar to what Panny receivers have been using for a number of years. There is no point in having pre-outs. This thing maintains pure digital path. If the amp section is as solid as that of Panny, then this could be a real winner especially when combined with advanced audio processing, media streaming, etc.

Let us hope Sherwood delivers the goods later this month.

I saw this device at CEDIA and was rather impressed, at least with the media streaming capabilities (mainly aggregating from various channels and PlayOn integration). I was also told that the TI amplification chips being used were a 4ohm stable version, so that may mean a more robust amplification.

The 904 was demoed @ CEDIA..

Very awesome package, shown in Black and White IDs..

Video processing done by TI's Davinci..

Audio processing done by TI's (1) 788 & (1) 787..

Wireless done through USB adapter..

IMHO..

A very significant product..

Just my $0.015..

So the audio and video processing are clear, but anyone know which amplifier chips are in use?

I wonder if Panasonic's Dual/Triple-amp capability will be carried over by Sherwood.
