I'm looking at the EDTV panny from PC Video Online.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a panel from

them, and more specifically, if anyone has had to deal

with dead pixels with them.

Thanks,

Rey

Don't order from them. Their customer service is the worst. Those horrible sounding comments people make on the pricegrabber site about PCVideoOnline are true. They tried the bait and switch on me- and also tried to charge $400 for shipping and 4% for insurance costs. The total came to almost 4K on the panny 5UY. They are also extremely rude ( NY based?) . So I cancelled my order and found a better price and better service elsewhere.

P.S.- no dead or stuck pixels on mine

I couldn't wait and phoned in the order.

I wanted to go with Paul from projection1

but PCVideo show a lower price. I asked them about

dead pixels and they said they would exchange.

I hope to talk to Paul soon. And I hope I will

be able to CANCEL like you said if I decide to.

Please, allow me as I just ordered one on March 31, 2003 and can give you the dirty. As I said ordered on March 31, Monday, and insisted that I have it by Friday. Also bought the wall mount and 3 year extended warranty. I called numerous times (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) in order to try and get a tracking number as this was a large purchase (and the largest) too do over the Internet (type A Virgo, I like everything in its place:D ).

Basically, be prepared to wait and wait and wait and wait for customer service (~30-45 minutes, on average). Salesmen will come on the phone and ask if they can help you (can you say sales). When I ordered I was given the 3% shipping charge on top of the regular shipping. I told them "forget it and I'll get it someplace else". Be prepared to haggle. Roughly I saved $xxx haggling. I finally got the tracking number and a phone number to Northeast Express Couriers...at 4:15 pm on Friday. Called the shippers, yup, already left, going to have delivery tonight and can you give us directions off of I95 North...sure enough one guy pulls up in a van at 6:00 pm and has my plasma.

The plasma strapped on a small pallet and had the "shock" sticker which was pure white. Set it up, no dead pixels. Overall, very happy with PQ and plasma itself.

The wall mount and warranty paperwork have yet to show up as of today. I called yesterday (once again on hold for 30 minutes) and was finally given the tracking number for the wall mount as they drop ship it from the factory? It is due Wednesday. Warranty paperwork was put in the mail on Thursday the third of April. Still have not received it. Can't understand it as I am in CT and they are out of NY.

Based upon my, so far, experiences I don't think I would go with them again. But my "anal"ness is probably getting the better of me and it would be worth it, to me anyway, to spend a little more. Then again, I did get a great price and I have no complaints with the plasma (the other items I will either get or get a credit on my card through the fraud protection feature).

They are not very efficient and definitely rude but what do you want from a sale that occurred digitally and from New York?

BTW I have read GREAT things of plasmaextreme.us and would have purchased from them (Lisa was in Omaha having steaks, cost you the sale girl;)) but they did not stock the 5UZ (the one with the RCA connectors not BNC). Oh well.

Soon, soon. Maybe in two to three years (if I make it that long) when I can get a 60" 1920x1080 with DVI/HDCP and firewire for $5,000 along with an all digital connection through my DSL from HBO or something like that(hehehehehe, I make my self laugh). Can/will you even deliver it in person and help the "newbie" set it up ;). I'll get the Omaha steaks, a James Bond Marathon (like TNT only on the plasma:D ) and a few pints of Honey Brown Ale. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Only X's and O's, why no ++++++++'s?

Seriously, as I said before I would have bought a plasma from you in a sec.;) but for some bizarre virgo like reason I just had to have the RCA connectors. Have no idea why as I know you can get BNC to RCA adapters, that's just me. Please tell Brian, "Thank you very much for the info on the BenQ". He was extremely quick with responses to my questions which I had actually sent to you ([email protected]). He was very professional and that (as far as customer service goes) is extrememly important to me (Controller for a mid-size Healthcare company). I was considering that model as well, but just heard and actually saw great things with the 42" panny that I pulled the trigger on that one.

You can't do much better than plasmaextreme.us, you can do a whole lot worse.

Transaction completed. Received the wall mount yesterday and the warranty today. Total time from order to completion 10 business days (2 weeks). Not very stellar but every things here the plasma is GREAT and I got to banter a little with Lisa;).

Now looking at progressive dvd players, panasonic. And no, I am not a panasonic gadget geek. Just reviews seem to suggest that they make some of the best plasma televisions and dvd players (no chroma bug, eg).

Lisa, sorry James Bond isn't on your list of all-time favs. I do have some Hitchcock DVD's if that would be better.:)

PS ++++'s mean what you want them to mean. XOXOXOXO to me means you would like to have a friendly game of tic-tac-toe.:p
