Yeah, I remember seeing those on Big Brother about 3 or 4 years ago... uh, my wife watches it.

Anyway, I LOVED those panels and was planning on using them... then I found them and found out how much they cost and that was the end of THAT. I don't remember the figure, but it was enough that I wrote it off without any further thought. I had an architect friend source them and I'm thinking that even with his discount, it was in the $75-80 apiece ballpark for whatever that panel size is - maybe 18"x18"? Whatever the price was, it was enough to make me forget all about them.

Aha - found them. Yep, price is as ugly as I remembered. $70-90 apiece, 22"x22", so about $20-27/square foot. That 5x5 panel arrangement in the photo would run $1750-2250, then.

I couldn't get the page to load - which makes me wonder if the funky panels didn't go over to well at $90 a pop and the company isn't around anymore.

Looks like something that maybe you could come close to as a DIY.

Make a mold than figure out some thing to make the body This will be the hard part. Finding a material you can mix, pour and end up with something of the right acoustical properties. Paint dark grey and Then cover with a thin layer of grey foam glued to the surface

Rest, repeat 25 times.

I'd say look at this site for cheaper stuff:

Their studio foam panels are very similar to what people make here at AVS. I think the price is very attractive.

I am planning to go with these for my HT instead of a DIY job.
