Just wanted to know if anyone has tried this new version of the codec, or improved version over the beta one. They claim that it is much faster than before and that it works so well compraed to WM9 and Divx that you can play full 1920x1080 HD material on a 2.5 ghz computer and 1280x720 on a 1.5 ghz. I tried using it via Avisynth and using VDubmod encoding a 1920x1080 1hr 35min film that recorded from OTA HDTV. It took like 12 hrs to encode and once it was done, I was able to playback smoothly on my 2.6 ghz P4 w/H.T., but the image looked very, very compressed and even had some ghost imaging type of effects. What surprised me was that from a 10 gig file, it compressed to 545 megs! That might be why it looked over compressed. Maybe I had some wrong settings, but if anyone else has some better experience with the new version and can help on what settings to use for 1920x1080 and 1280x720, that would be great. Thanks.
