Hi Everyone,

Our HT construction is zooming along (drywall going up as this is being typed...) and my wife just dragged me to the carpet/tile store to make some decisions about the basement in general.

When we mentioned that one room would be a dedicated theater the carpet guy showed us a brochure from Joy Carpets of their 'Showtime' pattern.

This one is a little too purple for us but they do have a darker pattern:

We know this is silly carpeting but having a dedicated HT is kind of silly (but essential) so we thought it might be fun.

Has anyone used this pattern from Joy Carpets? How is it holding up? Any regrets?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

We looked at a similar carpet - popcorn on the floor, tickets strewn everywhere. I was all excited because it was pretty cheap (a carpet outlet). But the more I looked at it, the more I thought I'd get really tired of it really soon. It was very bright - purples, teals, pinks, yellows. I finally decided against it and bought a floral "hotel" pattern instead. The colors are more traditional, and is more soothing to the eye.

Have you thought of using it as an accent rug (if your room allows it)? That way, if you get tired of it, you can move it elsewhere for a while, them bring it back.

Just my $.02.

I feel the same way although you may think differently. I am going with some type of geometric carpeting.
