Has anyone recently used the throw distance projection calculator for the Panasonic AE-500 that's available on ProjectorCentral

(URL is http://www.projectorcentral.com/proj...=1950&metric=0 )?

As you know, the projector has a short throw distance . I've had to rule it out in past based on values I got on the ProjectorCentral site, as well as from the table included in the projector's spec sheet ( http://www.visualsystemsgroup.com/Pr...t/PT-L300U.pdf ).

I tried the projection calculator again yesterday just to double check my findings, and discovered that it now shows a much wider range. If you try it out, it shows a throw distance range of 9.8 - 15.1 feet for a 100" diagonal screen. In contrast, the Panasonic official spec sheet table shows a range of 10.2 to 12.1 feet for a 100" diagonal.

I would have questioned the folks at www.projectorcentral but couldn't find a contact on the website.

make sure that you select the PT-L300U and the not PT-AE300. If you use the PT-L300U it should be correct as that's what I tested with.

Should I take that to mean that the AE-300 has a longer throw lens?

If so, is it possible to purchase it?
