Hauppauge 250 ?

I recently installed this card into a pc to connect a standard direct tivo to. The main purpose of this is for streaming throughout the house with VLC.


I was wondering though what the best video quality I can get out of this is for watching tv on my monitor. I read that Dscaler filters don't work with the 250. I don't need any timeshifting or recording functionality, since it is already a tivo. Just trying to get the best quality image on my dell 2405 monitor. The machine it's on has plenty of horsepower, and an ati 1800xt video card. Would the avivo video in be better to use, when I first tested it the quality apeared a little worse?
