For anyone wondering just how HDTV material looks on the WinTV-D. You can find some screen captures using the WinTV2000 viewer that comes with the card here:

Is your all in wonder deinterlacing the signal? My captures look like this, but I see obnoxious motion artifacts from the weaved signal on my Matrox G-400.

The Armageddon captures were right off the WinTV-D ... trick is to set the preference to either Motion or Still depending on the type of capture you're aiming for. If you have it at still and the subjects are moving around at all you'll see artifacting.


For a good comparison of how the AIW de-interlaces checkout these apples to apples captures here: http://people.mn.mediaone.net/ply174.../wintvcomp.htm No smoke and mirrors used on these. Watching anything with a lot of movement (sports) is night and day difference when viewed through the AIW s-video.
