Is there any reason why I should have noticed a big increase in my phone bill after I got 3.0? Is there anything inherent to 3.0 that could be causing this?
I don't have the bill handy right now, I'm at my in-laws for Thanksgiving, but I believe the phone calls were averaging 10 minutes or so where before they were less than 5 minutes (my 3.0 downloaded correctly on the first try--right at the beginning of Nov. on my ShowStopper).
Or asking the question another way, is there any reason the newer phone numbers that are labeled "test" numbers (if I remember the wording correctly in the list) would be slower? I am using a different phone number now because it is in my MSA/latta and it is only costing me .04/min where before the out-of-state number I was using was .05/min.
By way of review, those of us who don't have and probably never will have a local number, this is the preferred order of phone number choices:
1) inside your Market Service Area/Latta (check the phone book to figure this out)
2) out-of-state
3) WORST CHOICE: in-state but outside of your MSA/latta
You sometimes really have to fool ReplayTV to give you out-of-state numbers by lying about your zip--the system should be smarter about giving choices realizing this fact of life in the screwed up world of dealing with phone companies, especially in the king-of-MSA state (with dozens)--Illinois.
