Hi. With help from these forums I recently purchased a 50v500 hitachi lcd. I have an older toshiba dvd player but it has no progressive scan. The only requirements I have for a new player is that it must have prog. scan, atleast 2 disc capacity, sleep timer & of course dolby and dts. I'm interested in quality so I don't want to buy any old junk. I'm willing to spend upwards of $400. I was eyeing the toshiba sd-3815. I don't know much about it though. What do you guys recommend?

Nice set. I've had mine for about 1/2 a year and I love it. This set has a DVI and if it's quality you are looking for (I assume you mean picture quality), you should be utilizing this feature. However, you'll be hard pressed to find a carosel player with DVI for under $400 even if they exist.

yes i'm referring to picture quality. i really don't want to spend more than $400 only because something new comes out all the time. but i can stick with something for a while. I've had my toshiba sd2200 for about 4 years now. im really not familiar with dvi so i don't know how much better it is.
I also have a the hitachi lcd rptv. My question is why is there a need for a p-scan dvd player when the tv has a built in line doubler? Unless you're planning to get a dvd player w/ DVI outputs, or something like a Denon DVD1600, i think the tv's line doubler will be fine.
