Have PIII PC, how can I identify which board?

232 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Paul_Seng
Have PIII 662mhz PC to retrofit as HTPC. Want to identify board type so I can make appropriate component selections. What distinguishing marks, characteristics, etc. should I look for and where can I find more information on board specs? Thanks to all!

One way to do it is by using the BIOS string when you power on your computer.

More specifics on number of sites. Some of them:

Alex is right. When your computer first boots up, a string of characters + date will show. Copy the whole string down and one of the websites will probably show you what MB, revision and bios date you have.
