New house, old story - wife wants my JBL830 speakers hidden under window benches.

No height clearance for stands.

Underneath these benches are hardwood floors.

What can I put underneath the speakers so it's nice wood (not the floors') doesn't get marred & sound doesn't reverberate off the floors?

Appreciate any feedback.

Try this guy:

He can probably configure a very short stand with felt pads underneath. Or you could go low rent and place mouse pads under your speakers. Having stands would tilt your JBL speakers at a proper angle...

A piece of carpet is all you need, but as for the reverberation, the entire room needs carpet or rug to control that. But if the tweeters aren't at ear height I hope these are for background music only, because that's all they'll be good for.

I would go to Wal-mart and get some area rugs, around 48"x 36" or so, and put them right in front of the speakers.

Put four 3M stick-on soft plastic feet on the bottom of the speakers.

Of course putting them under the benches tells the whole world who wears the pants in the family, because that sucks.

They should go on the benches where they are at an appropriate height.

But I guess you had better do what the boss says.

That looks like a good deal. Have you used them?
I have not used those, specifically, but I have used furniture bumpers that you can buy at Home Depot (or wherever). Whether they are sorbothane or not I do not know, but I don't think it really matters.

And, honestly, I don't know that those at amazon are necessarily a "good deal". You might be able to find them cheaper, elsewhere.
