The current issue being resolved is an improved diaphragm sealing method. The optical fluid used in the lens can leak when the lens experiences high temperatures. I assume that since this is summer and shipping trucks are not often temperature controlled, more than a couple people might have taken their new lens out of the box to find a small amount of oil had leaked out of the lens. A new method for sealing the diaphragm has been developed and the components are being manufactured.
It was probably an easy decision to delay shipment until this one last wrinkle has been ironed out. However, I would also like Shawn to post an update on how the new diaphragm seal method is working.
