Hello everyone...

Last night I was at my buddies house, he just got a brand new projection tv. I was having some serious issues getting some things configured, so I was hoping somebody could help me. I tried some many different ways to plug the cables in, just to get surround to the TV and xbox.

So here is a list of the components I need to get hooked up:

TV: Mitsubishi WD-65735

DVD & Surround: Sony DAV-DZ830w

Game: XBOX 360

Cable Box: Time Warner HDTV - Motorola DCH-3200

Right now, I have HDMI going from the Cable box into the TV and HDMI from the dvd/surround sound into the TV and component cables from the Xbox to the TV. Again, I had all these wires plugged in several different ways, but I couldn't get things to work perfectly. I could get the xbox to work on surround sound, but with no picture.

Any help is appreciated. I have these 2 HDMI cables, some HD component cables, and regular component cables to use.

Thank you!!

The video connections you mentioned are correct - HDMI from the cable box to the TV, component from the Xbox to the TV, and HDMI from the Sony DVD player to the TV. But, that just takes care of the video, not the audio.

For audio, you need to run a separate connection from each device to the Sony surround processor. Use an optical or coax audio cable to connect the Xbox to the Sony system and another optrical or coax cable from the cable box to the Sony system.

Thanks a lot for your reply. The only issue I forsee is anymore cables being secured to the xbox. From what I can see, the xbox has 1 input and that's the component cable. It looks like an over grown hdmi cable, that end plugs into the xbox, then this cable splits into 5 (red/white, blue/green/red). Any idea what to dofrom there?
