So, I am on my second unit for this strange problem. When the composite or S-video cable is plugged in, I can watch the shows, in color, for 3-10 minutes then it starts going black and white. Mind you, if I switch over to Component everything is fine.

Any ideas? I've got Sony stumped!

Yes, doesn't matter whether it is my pre-monitors or my Samsung. I have tried different systems (ie VCR IN's, Receiver S-VHS Input) so I am LOST!

Have you tried using another S video cable? Maybe it's a bad S cable.

Tried many different cables. Any chance it is the signal strength on the dish? I am 89% on one LNB and 68% on the other? My other two normal RCA boxes seem to be fine.

That would not seem likely since you stated on the original post that the component outputs were good.

Just to prove it, does the Sony have any menus with color or a blue screen? If so, does the color go away. How about an over the air station?

Nope, the Sony menu's do not have it so it is a box problem but for the love of me I cannot figure it out. And to boot, two boxes months apart with the same issue?

Hmmm
