HD 7750 Problem and Replacement

724 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  iwanrs
I am using Asus HD7750 Graphic Card in my Silverstone GD08 HTPC casing.

After about 6 months, this HD7750 start to cause problem:

Due to it's low profile physic, this HD7750 has only MICRO HDMI output instead of standard size HDMI.

The supplied Micro to standard HDMI adapter cable provided by Asus cause lose connect resulting the image appear on and off on my screen.

This is due to small size of micro HDMI cannot hold firmly the plug and the weight of HDMI cable hanging down.

I am considering to replace this HD7750 Graphic Card with other model which has the STANDARD HDMI output, not micro HDMI.

Can some one recommend me a Graphic Card which has similar or better performance than the HD7750?

Standard size HDMI.

Low profile, the overall length must be about 9" long.

High performance or high end model preferred.

THANKS

You might take a look at this card -

ASUS HD7770-1GD5 Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

If it fits your case, it's a step up and on sale with a rebate.

Just did this myself my HIS HD7750 was failing, looked to be memory issues. New card was a drop in replacement and works just fine.

Good Luck

Thanks Rew, it might fit into my G08 casing.

Any other suggestion?
Is HD7850 a better option?

The length is also below 8", suitable for GD08 casing.

I only use this GC mainly (95%) for watching HD Movies and TV Shows, no Games.

Please commend.
